Making Space was an experimental graphic design collective that emerged between 2018 – 2019. It hinged itself on a series of critical, design-led inquiries into the value of the designer, precarity, privilege, industry accessibility, and shifting identities. These investigations culminated into a collection of artifacts, publications and tandem events that proposed and facilitated alternative narratives, conditions and standards in graphic design and beyond. Making Space was made up of Rida Abbasi, Zenobia Ahmed, Noor Sleiman, Alex Margetic, Hope Lumsden–Barry, Ryley Lawson, Dennis Graeul and Rachel Worcou.

Living and operating on the unceded land and waterways of the Wurundjeri people of the Eastern Kulin Nation. I pay my respects to elders, past, present, and emerging, the Traditional Owners and their ongoing connection to this sacred land. Always was and always will be, Aboriginal Land. © Rachel Worcou 2025
